Message: Esther and the Intercessor in Each of Us

Speaker: Greg Holder

Service Date: January 17, 2021 Plain Print Version

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.

Hebrews 11:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great could of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us . . .

Hebrews 12:1

"But I tell you, love you enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

Matthew 5:44

What God wants us to believe about our God-exalting prayers is that none of them is lost. None is wasted or pointless.
John Piper

What details jumped out at you from Esther's story? When in your life have you felt like Esther? What do you long for God to do in your life and in the world? How would you describe your experience with prayer? In what ways has prayer made a difference in your life? Is prayer difficult for you. Why or why not? Why is prayer so important for people who follow Jesus?
