Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead  1 Peter 1:3

Worship: Arranging your life around what matters most

The worship of God encompasses all of life.

Core Value:   The eternal God is worthy of our praise, our trust, our prayer and devotion.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1

We become like the idols that we obsess about.

Core Value: The Bible is how God speaks to us

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female. Genesis 1:27

Core Value: Every human bears the image of God

And we were made in the image of our triune God, we are created for relationship with each other, but in a distinct and wondrous way with God. We are to reflect God's love and righteousness to each other.

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42

For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord's people in Jerusalem. Romans 15:26

Core Value: The redeemed of God are many, and yet one.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20

Core Value: God is not finished with us or with this world.

The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Reflect

What do you think of when you think of worship? Are there some worshipful moments in your life when you felt especially connected to God? What are some "idols" or "little g gods" that you have to watch out for in your own life that threaten to take worship from the one true God? Have you experienced God speaking directly to you through His Word? Describe how Scripture encourages, challenges, and speaks to you. What does it mean to you that every human bears the image of God and that we are to reflect God's love and righteousness to each other? How does that play out practically in our lives?
