1. When was the last time you were extremely dirty and desperately needed to get clean?
2. We mentioned how Moms get a whole bunch of questions, all the time. Do you have a story about a funny question that you asked as a child, or that you have been asked?
1. Read
Acts 16:16-40 aloud as a group. What details do you notice?
2. In
Acts 16:25 we read that Paul and Silas were singing hymns to God. Have you ever witnessed someome defiantly worship and trust God even in difficult circumstances? Have you ever been faced with that challenge?
3. Read
2 Corinthians 5:16-21. What do you make of Paul's description of the "new creation?" What do you think of his statement that we "regard no one from a worldly point of view?"
4. Consider this quote from Frederick Buechner:
"Going under symbolizes the end of your old life. Coming up again symbolizes the beginning in you of something strange and new and hopeful. You can breathe again."
What are your thoughts about baptism? Are you being called to that step of obedience? Have you ever witnessed a special baptism?

Father, we thank You for this gift of life You have given us. We thank You for so many amazing mothers that we celebrate today. And we ask You to draw close and speak tenderly to those of us who grieve today - may hearts we comforted, and may Your peace sustain us. We have much to be grateful for as a church family, and for all of those things we give you thanks. Lord Jesus, we ask You to continue to draw everyone to You, especially those people we love and hold in our hearts right now, and to consider this life of joy and surrender that You offer us. Holy Spirit, would You give people the courage to continue to take steps toward life with You? We pray all of this in the Name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.
