1. In what ways do you convince yourself, or maybe others, that there has to be more to be more to following Jesus than what the gospel, or good news, tells us?
2. Tim mentioned 3 ways we can go about studying the Bible - the world in front of the text (looking through the lens of the world we live in), the world within the text (simply understanding the meaning of the words on the page), and the world behind the text (what was happening in the world at that time). Which of these is your default when studying the Bible?
3. How does faith in Jesus offer a different kind of hope than some of the modern "philosophies, religions, or politics" that typically fail to deliver on their promises?
4. How can understanding the freedom that Christ provides impact your daily life and sense of purpose?

Pray
Father - thank you for sending your son, Jesus, to rescue from our enemies and the evil of this world. In this world, we get stuck - physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and so on. Thank you for giving us hope and providing a way out of the stuckness that is for everyone. Help us to see how we can find freedom in you and your ever-present grace, that isn't deserved, but yet is still overflowing and free. Thank you for loving us this much. AMEN!
