Message: The Greatest Storyteller

Speaker: Tim Bounds

Service Date: February 11, 2024 Plain Print Version

Read: Matthew 11:25, 13:1-17, 33, Luke 10:25-37, Hebrews 12:2

Reflect:

1. Take some time with this one: can you think of a famous parable Jesus told? Which one is it? Can you tell it?

2. It is said that Torah has 70 faces, meaning that when we humbly explore the truth in God's Word, we can see how multi-faceted it is, and we learned the same is true of Jesus' parables.  How can you explore God's Word on a deeper level?  What have you found to be most helpful?  Anything you want to try for this first time?

3. Read Luke 10:25-37.  Which parts of the story stick out to you the most? What is the theme in your mind?  Being a good neighbor? Loving your enemies? Purity laws and what it means to be clean? All of the above?

4. How about Matthew 13:33.  What do you think this means in your own words?

5. For fun: do you have a list of movies?  Or a "Man Movie List?"  What is on it, and what is noticeably not on it?

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."
