This event will be held at Undivided Experience Center

Join us on Monday June 9th at 6pm as we continue our Corporate Faith Speaker Series with Orvin (Orv) Kimbrough, Chairman and CEO of Midwest BankCentre.
Midwest BankCentre, St. Louis’ second-largest privately-owned local bank, leverages the bank’s robust financial services to empower individuals, bolster businesses, and invigorate neighborhoods. A leading figure in Community and Economic Development, Midwest BankCentre’s initiatives under his tenure, including Impact Banking and the Rising Together Foundation, reflect his personal journey from foster care to corporate leadership, aiming to expand access to opportunities and affordable capital, thus improving socioeconomic outcomes. Born in East St. Louis to a drug-addicted mother who passed away when he was just eight years old, Orv’s early life was marked by foster care, orphanages, and extreme hardship. Despite facing obstacles including abuse, poverty, and hunger, Orv chose a path of education and determination over despair. His story of resilience is captured in his powerful memoir, Twice Over a Man: A Fierce Memoir of an Orphan Boy Who Doggedly Determined a Finer Life, where he chronicles his journey from the streets to becoming a transformational leader in the nonprofit and business communities.
Before joining Midwest BankCentre, Orv spent nearly two decades in nonprofit leadership, most notably as President and CEO of the United Way of Greater St. Louis, where he helped the organization grow into the nation’s largest affiliate, raising nearly $80 million annually. Orv’s academic achievements include degrees in social work, business, and theology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Aquinas Institute of Theology. His leadership extends beyond Midwest BankCentre, as he has served or currently serves on the boards of United Way Worldwide, Korte Construction, Core & Main (a publicly traded company), the Federal Reserve’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC), and as a Commissioner with the National Academy of Medicine. A self-described social entrepreneur, Orv is fueled by an unquenchable curiosity, a passion for connecting people, and a belief in the power of relationships to create lasting change. He has been married for over 20 years and is the proud father of a daughter and son. Through his life and work, Orv inspires others to embrace their potential, overcome adversity, and work together to build a brighter future.
