Read: Acts 16:16-40, Psalms 8, 32, 33, 40, 65, 98, 130, 145, Job 1:20
Reflect:
1. Whose presence in your life impacted you in a surprising way?
2. What do you make of the statement, "God doesn't waste good problems?" Have you ever seen this play out in life?
3. C.S. Lewis wrote, "We must lay before him what is in us, not what ought to be in us." Sometimes it is difficult to pray because we are trying to lay before God what "ought to be in us." Have you ever struggled with that? How can you practice bringing your honest feelings before God this week?
4. If we bear the name of Christ, people are watching to see how we will respond to circumstances in our lives - good and bad. Paul and Silas respond to their imprisonment with surprising worship, not a detached, fake display. What gospel is your life preaching?
5. Have you ever turned to God in worship like Job - or like Paul and Silas? What was going on? Have you ever been reassured, like Angela's voicemail, by a voice of truth and encouragement when times were tough?
