Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.  Luke 24:13-16

Jesus came along side this couple as they discussed what had just happened. He came and walked with them in the middle of their confusion, their pain, and their heartache. 

DISCUSSION:

        Has there been a time in your life when you experienced Jesus in the midst of your heartache and confusion?

        Are there ways in which you need to experience the presence in your life today?

The resurrection of Jesus was a miracle. Miracles by definition are: abnormal and non-reproducible, so they cannot be proved by science's methods. But here is the historical evidence that is as good as it gets for almost any event of ancient history:

The tomb is empty

His family believed 

The transformation of the disciples

There were corroborating witnesses

this had not been done in a corner. Acts 26:26

Let's stay open and humble and keep learning along the way. There is evidence. But it is also a matter of faith. God won't twist your arm. But he will meet you in this journey.

THIS is a new world, the new day that dawned that first Easter morning. It's Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the resurrected Son of God. HE is our hope. 

We are not at the end of the story yet. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is that power that is putting the broken pieces of our lives and our relationships and our world back together. What next step do you need to take towards this Savior?
