Read Luke 17:11-18. Take a minute and see what the Lord lays on your heart about this passage. Now read it again. What stood out to you? What did you notice? What questions came up for you?
Read Matthew 20:30-34. How are the two passages similar? What differences did you notice? What points are both Matthew and Luke trying to convey?
Notice in the leper’s story that Jesus told them to go and as they went, they were healed. What step is the Lord asking you to take in your own life?
Two things are paramount to having a spirit of gratitude. People must admit there are good things, and understand that those things are happening outside of themselves. Why in our world today do we, like the nine lepers, find it so hard to be grateful?
Read James 1:17-18. Why should we find time every day to thank our Creator?
Action Steps
Be intentional with your gratitude. Take the time to call a friend, write a note or text, or just do something unexpected to say thanks.
Notice the little moments of grace that you are afforded every single day. Thank God.

Lord, words can’t express the gratitude that I have for all You have done for me. Every day that I rise from bed, I want to thank You for the air that I’m breathing and the life that You have given me. Please help me to remember that this gift of life is short, and I need to be bold in the way that I am grateful to others and to You. Let me never take my family and loved ones for granted, as they are a true blessing that You have bestowed upon me. Please go with me this week and point out those times that I fail to recognize that I should be thankful and allow people to see You through my gratitude. Amen.
