Reflect:
What is one thing you’d like to ask God first when you see Him?
What would you say to God about living on this groaning planet?
What feelings for thoughts come up when you think about Jesus instructing us to “take heart”?
Do:
The teacher shared the story in Matthew 14 where Jesus walks on water. In the story, Jesus tells the fearful disciples to “take courage”. He knew that courage doesn’t come from mustering it up, but by recognizing that Jesus is the source of our courage.
How might you lean in to Jesus for courage this week?
When was the last time you prayed a bold, raw, authentic prayer?
On a scale from 1-10, how comfortable do you feel praying messy, honest prayers?
Can we spend some time praying together now?
Dig Deeper:
How have you been encouraged by the faith of others in times you’ve been unsure?
Consider calling or texting someone who has encouraged you and thanking them!
