Guardrails of Grace
Will Coleman | October 12, 2025
We continue in the Peak Experiences series, this time unpacking the Ten Commandments. Learn how God's laws are not restrictive control but guardrails of grace and love designed to protect and guide people to freedom. We explore how God is establishing a relationship, not just regulation. We'll see how the Law acts as a mirror, revealing our need for grace and pointing us to Jesus, who fulfilled every command so we can draw near to God with confidence. God's way is as the pathway to life and a renewed relationship with Him.
Well, good morning crossings. How y'all doing today? Good, good, good. Shout out to all of the sites, Grant's Trail, Fenton, uh, mid Rivers, everybody watching online. I'm just glad to be back with you all. Uh, I, I feel like I was just here 'cause I was like two months ago. Uh, and I, I tell the leadership here, but I wanted you all to hear this. You all are such an easy church to love. Like, I love getting to be here with you all. Uh, I was, uh, telling some of them, like I grew up with a lot of cousins. Like I, a lot of cousins. And so sometimes they would come to my house, sometimes I would go to their house. There would be times we wouldn't see each other for a long time. But when we would get together, it was, it was like we picked up right where we left off. That's how I feel about y'all. Y'all are my cousins in Christ and I just love getting to be here. And uh, we're, uh, we're gonna keep this thing going. I've been watching, we're in this series called Peak Experiences and I've been watching online the past few weeks so I can stay on top of what's been going on. And let me tell you, I'm proud of y'all. I'm proud because I've been watching and you all have been talking back to Greg. You've been amening him. Head nods. Preach, preacher. So listen, let's keep that same energy this morning. Don't get quiet 'cause I'm here now. Okay? Let's keep this thing going. And what I'm excited about this particular series is that what I've been, what I've learned is that these peak experiences are all about God wanting to meet with his people and wanting relationship with us. And if you've been, if you haven't been with us, let me just get you caught up on where we've been over these last, uh, three weeks or so. So we started off at, in the Garden of Eden, which Greg talked about, many believe what's on top of a mountain, okay? And there we messed up, humanity messed up, and yet God provided a way back to him. Why? Because of relationship. Then in week two, uh, we connected with, with Abraham on Mount Mariah. And God told him to sacrifice his son and he goes and does it. And I always think to myself, what was Isaac thinking when he, when they were going up on that mountain, right? But God provided a replacement sacrifice much like he did for us with Jesus. And then last week we met Moses at Mount Sinai and God speaks to him through this burning bush experience. And it's like, go back into Egypt. You're gonna deliver my people, I've called you. But he, he met him there because of relationship. And it's been powerful to see God doing this week after week after week. And, and maybe you don't remember where Mount Sinai was out. Let, let's look at this video real quick about Mount Sinai. We've, we've gone to these different places, but this was the mountain of God. And guess what, where we are today, we are right back at Mount Sinai. We're right back here. But the last time that we were here, Moses was by himself. God spoke to him in a burning bush. It was miraculous. Right? Now let me just get you caught up on what has happened since the last time Moses was at this mountain. Okay? So the last time he was there, God says, Hey, what I want you to do is you're gonna go back to Egypt where you grew up. I know you were on the run, right? I know that that that life has gotten crazy for you. But I'm calling you. You're gonna go back and what you're gonna do is you're gonna free, you're gonna lead my people out of, of, of, of slavery. And you're gonna lead them back actually back to this mountain. But you're gonna lead them to the place that I've called them to be. Now, there was an epic showdown, y'all epic showdown that happened at that point. Moses goes back, he goes to Egypt, he looks at Pharaoh, he says, let my people go. And Pharaoh says, nah, we ain't doing that. And then there's this back and forth of all of these different plagues and there's this a huge plague that Pharaoh finally says, all right, get out of here. Leave. And so Moses takes the people of Israel, which started off in Egypt as a family, but now has grown to the size of a nation. Many uh, uh, scholars, we don't really know the exact amount. Some say somewhere between 600,000 and 3 million people now are, they're part of the, the, the is Israelite nation. And so now they're all leaving this place, right? And I'm cutting out a lot. I'm just trying to get, just get you caught up, okay? They leave from Egypt, they get to the Red Sea, they're like, oh no, what are we going to do now? Pharaoh's like, wait a minute, we can't lose our whole army or our work, our workforce. We gotta go get 'em. Army, let's go. Let's saddle up. Let's go get these folks. So now they're at this Red Sea. God splits the Red Sea, they walk through on dry ground. Uh, Pharaoh and his army come in. They all drown inside of the water because God causes it back up. The people celebrate. Yay, we're free. God did it. Woo-hoo. And you would think at that moment that they would be like, we, we will always trust God. But they had an attitude, much like we have is what have you done for me lately? God, that's what you did yesterday, but what you gonna do today? And so they're out now in the wilderness and they start complaining, God, we don't have any food out here. At least back in Egypt we had some food. So God provides bread from heaven, he gives them water from Iraq. And yet they still were like, what next? And so now they're back at this same mountain where Moses had met with God and God promised him, you're gonna get the people and bring them back to this mountain and worship me here. So this mountain was actually a place of promise. And now they're back and God wants to do something great. He doesn't just want to show them like all the miracles that he can do, which he can. But now he wants to show them the way to live. He wants relationship with them. And so they're back at this mountain. And just so you all know, this is only three months since they left Egypt. A lot has happened in three months. I don't know about you all. Like sometimes you think you go back three months and you're like, nothing really happened. Well sometimes you look back and go, A lot can happen in three months. And so for these folks, a lot has happened. And what's about to happen here is God is now gonna give them the 10 Commandments. How many of you all have ever heard of the 10 Commandments before? Just want to make sure, even if you didn't grow up in church, you probably have heard about them, seen them, something like that, right? We're back at this place. And for Moses especially, he's back at this mountain Mount Sinai and it's bringing back some memories. How many of you all have ever gone back to like the town or the neighborhood of the house that you grew up in? Right? Brings back some memories. Now some of you all are like, well I, I've, I'm still in the house that I'm growing up in. Well, well what about for you? Have you ever seen one of your teachers like at the grocery store and you're like, they have a life outside of that classroom, right? But it brings memories of like, whoa, wait, I hope they don't tell my parents what I did in class the last time, right? Or how many of you all have ever heard a song you haven't heard in years and it takes you back to the first time you heard it or it takes you back to this special moment where that song impacted your life? That's what Exodus 19 is for Moses. He's back at this place that brings back a lot of memories. The last time I was here, God spoke to me through a burning bush, but I was also in in, in a low place. He had been on the run for years and years and years. And so now he is back at Mount Sinai and actually next week is the Threepeat. We're gonna be right back at Mount Sinai next week because after we talk about the 10 Commandments, there is this wild story that happens to the people of Israel that Pastor Ben Horseman is gonna tell you about. Next week, I'm gonna do my best not to get into his story, what he's preaching on next week. But you, you want to be here next week because you're gonna see what happens right after they get the 10 Commandments. But today we're at the base of Mount Sinai and now we're looking at like, okay, why did God bring them specifically back here, especially Moses. But now why are they all back at this mountain? Well, oftentimes in scripture and even in our own lives, we see that God will bring us back to the place that he called us, that he found us for a few different reasons. One of the reasons is that God will bring us back to renew the relationship that he started with us. Like think about maybe that place that God found you in, could have been a city, could have been a church, could have been a place. And many times God will bring you back there to just remind you of where he's called you and to let you know, let you know that he loves you so much and that you don't, you're not having to go about this life by yourself. The last time you were here, you were in this place. But now that you're back here, you've grown so much because of God, he'll bring you back to renew relationship. Other times he'll bring you back to redeem the past. That's what he had done for Moses. He brought Moses back to redeem the past. The last time you were here Moses, this was a place of failure. This was a place of struggle. But I'm here to redeem the past and show you that what once looked like failure can reveal God's strengths. But again, it's relationship F and other times he'll bring you back for refinement. Even for Moses, this was an uncomfortable place and it's a place that stretches our faith. You may have remembered the picture of Mount Sinai that the actual, this is what it actually looks like. This wasn't this lush place with meadows and people were frolicking. That's a rough place y'all. That's uncomfortable. But we grow with through discomfort. Can I say that again? Yes. Amen. We do not grow in comfortable places. We grow through discomfort and so many times God will bring us back for refinement so that we can continue to grow. But it's all about relationship. And God actually has been doing this back in Moses' time. He did it if you done a New Testament, some of you all know the story of Peter. Jesus found Peter as a fisherman, says, I'm gonna make you fishers of men. Later on, Peter denies Jesus. Not once, not twice but three times. Peter denies him. And where does Jesus meet him again after he denied him And Jesus uh uh, resurrected. He meets Peter back on the boat and says, Peter, now go feed my sheep. And he restored Peter in the place that he initially had called him. And he's still doing that today. He'll bring you back to a place that you thought don't want to go back there. But it's all about relationship. It's all about relationship. The same God. And I love that we sang that song earlier. You are the same guy because the same guy who did that then does it today. And that's Mount Sinai. God is telling Moses, he's telling the people, he's telling us, you've seen my power split. The Red Sea gave you bread from heaven, sent quail from all over. You didn't even have to hunt for it. I just sent them to you. You've seen my power, you've seen my provision. But now I want to teach you how to live. I want to show you my heart. That's what's about to happen As we get into this mountain or peak experience, we're gonna go into Exodus chapter 19 verses four through six. But first Lord, will you open up our hearts? Father, may we hear from you. And I pray that through this message that we will all trust you more and more in Jesus' name. Amen. So Exodus in chapter 19, verses four through six, here is what God is telling Moses. He says, you've seen what I did to the Egyptians, how I carried you on eagle's wings and brought you to myself before there were commandments. You all, there was covenant. He hasn't even given him the commandments. He hasn't given him the law. He's given them covenant. I didn't. I brought you out. You saw all that I did. I carried you up outta here and I brought you to myself. Did you hear what he said? He said, I didn't just bring you out. Where did he bring him to? To him? That's not legal talk, that's love, that's relationship. He said, I brought you to my, to me. And then he goes on in uh, verses five and six. He says, now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, the things that I'm about to give to you, if you will obey me, you'll be my own special treasure from among all the peoples of the earth. From all the earth belongs to me. God says, and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation. He tells them, you, you are my special possession. Like you, you're my people. Like this isn't a a a God going follow every instruction because if you don't, I'm getting you. This is a God that's like, I love you. You are my people. I'm about to give you the best way to live. And if you'll follow it, you're gonna flourish. You're gonna thrive. But this is all about relationship. It wasn't legal talk, it was love language. It's love language. But he is about to give them law, instructions, rules. And most of us, not all, we don't like rules. Some of you do, some of you're like, if I don't have the rules I won't know what to do. But most people are like, ah, just let me do me. I don't, I don't want, I don't want all the rules. Like think back to when you were growing up. I'll tell you when I was growing up, there were some rules that my parents had that some of them I understood like, don't touch the stove. What did I do though? Touch the stove. Oh, now I see why you didn't want me to touch the stove. So some of them I knew Keep your room clean. I get it, I understand, but there was some I didn't understand like be home by 11. Why shouldn't it just be come home? Like where else am I gonna go? This is where my bed is. I'm not gonna sleep in on a park bench. Of course I'm gonna come home. But why do I have to come home at that time? Well, does it matter if I'm here at 11 or if I'm here at 2:00 AM Why does it matter? As long as I'm here, I didn't like it. But now as an adult and as a parent, I understand they wanted me home by 11. 'cause nothing good happens after midnight outside. Y'all like, let's be honest, nothing good happens a after midnight outside. It just doesn't, I didn't see it though as love and protection then I saw it as control and I saw it as a issue and a problem for me. But it was love. Now what I want us to do for a second, 'cause I, I know you all, you talk amongst yourselves during service. So we gonna keep doing that here today. I want you to think about what was the most ridiculous rule that your parents gave you growing up. Now if you are still at home with your parents, turn to someone that you are not related to because I don't want any problems here today. Okay? But I, we're gonna just take a moment. Think back, what was the most ridiculous rule your parents gave you Those Wheels in motion. So we can see what's happening. Eddie and I need a better vantage point. Ready? Steady. And they're off. Eddie, what are we expecting to see here? Well What we've got is a very simple mockup with a single lane and busy motorway. Everyone's gonna try and drive the same speed, but driver behavior's not perfect. Some people go a little bit faster, some people go a bit slower and the traffic will start to bunch up. As Eddie predicted, some of the drivers start to vary their speeds and the distance between the cars changes, they begin to bunch up. And sure enough, a cluster of vehicles comes to a standstill. A phantom traffic jam has formed. When we speed up the footage, we can see this traffic jam starting to spread backwards around the circle. And once it starts it just keeps going. So all it takes really then is a couple of people to break or something and sets it all off. Sure, if there are enough cars on the road, something very minor can get magnified into a, into a traffic jam. Interesting. We are talking about rules, instruction and instructions. You all were talking about some of the ridiculous ones, but I I I would guess that even though ridiculous rules were probably simple instructions, right, you just didn't like it, right? Typically some may have been crazy but even on this video they were all given the same simple instruction but they were not able to uphold it and live it out. Now there could have been a lot of different reasons. You know, somebody's pedometer was a little bit off so they thought they were going 15 miles an hour, but they were actually going 20. They couldn't tell somebody else could have just not been paying attention. Somebody else was just like, well I'm just gonna do what the person in front of me is doing and if they stop I'm gonna stop. But they were all given the same instruction and yet they couldn't uphold it At home you were probably given some simple instructions. Did you always follow through with them? No. Okay. Thank you. Some one person was honest appreciate that. Maybe your parent's in the room. So we, we will keep it going. But the part that I found the most interesting was that the guy way up at the top predicted it that that would happen. He says what you're gonna see is it's gonna create a phantom traffic jam. He knew before he even gave him the instructions what was going to happen? I think it's a lot like God, he's giving us a way to live but he knew we may struggle upholding these. So let's go over these 10 commandments. Many of you, you've heard 'em before, but we're still gonna go over 'em again, okay? But before we get to them, like I want to fill in the rest of Exodus 19, like God is initially talking to Moses. So he tells Moses, I need you to go tell the people to get ready because I want to come down and talk to them. I don't just want to talk to you because he said that you all are my special treasure. So he wanted to talk to all of the people but they had to get ready. He's like tell 'em to get ready, wash themselves, purify themselves, like set a boundary, make sure that we're gonna be good. 'cause what I'm about to do is I'm about to give some guardrails to life. How many of you all have ever seen guardrails on the road? How many of you all are like yes when you see a guardrail? Nobody. The only time you are excited about a guardrail is when you needed it to save your life. But guardrails are all are put on our roads because you're valuable. That's right. These instructions that God is about to give us are guardrails because you're valuable to him. It's all about relationship. So let's go now to Exodus chapter 20, these words that would reshape history forever. Exodus 20 verse three. God says, have no other gods before me. I'm gonna paraphrase. Some of these have no other God. He knew that they were walking into a land where people had many, many gods and he's like, do not give your heart to anything or anyone that cannot save you. Why? Because you saw what I did for you. You know that I saved you. I brought you out. No one else, nothing else can do it. God is not insecure. He did not give him this because he's like, man, if they what if they find another God and the neighbor don't want to serve on man, he's not insecure. He's telling them I'm protective. You're valuable to me. And when you take your eyes off of me, it leads to a traffic jam in your life. Number two, to have no, uh, no idols, don't shrink me down to something that you can create and you can manage. We'll talk about that a little bit next week. Why? Because you didn't build God, he made you. That's right. So you don't make an idol to worship, you worship him. Number three, don't misuse my name or take my name in vain. Why? Because his name carries his character. And when you take his name out, what you're saying is your character means nothing. You speak his name with reverence like somebody that you love. How many of you all back in the day you ever, you ever told those your mama jokes? Be honest, right? How many of those your mama jokes ended up with you? You ain't gonna talk about my mama like that. Why? Because there was love and reverence for your mother. How much more for God? Number four, remember the Sabbath. Keep it holy. Why did he give him this? Because rest equals trust. When you stop working, you declare God. You've got this. I don't. Number five, honor your father and mother respect starts at home. And I understand. I want to be very mindful that I know that there are some of you here that had traumatic experiences with your parents and I am so sorry that that happened. I need you to know though, that you have a heavenly Father that will not abuse you, that loves you, cares for you. But he says here, to honor those that gave us life here. Because learning to honor teaches you to honor God everywhere else. Number six, do not murder why life is sacred. Because every person was made in the image and likeness of God. And when you take someone else's life, you are taking part of God away. We don't do that. They were made in his image. They're his children just like you are. Do not commit adultery. Be faithful. Why? 'cause he is faithful to you. Love keeps covenant. Do not steal. Why Trust him that he will provide. We trust that he will provide taking from others. Says God, you're not enough. I need what they have. 'cause you're not a provider. We don't lie. Number nine, do not lie. Or, or Why? Because truth builds community. We all know that lies can, destroys trust and can destroy a community. And the last one, do not covet be content. He told him this because he knew comparison drains gratitude, contentment says God, you are enough for me. These are not random rules. These are a covenant of love. Are they instruction? Yes, but they're instruction because of relationship. My question is, is how are you doing with these? You've been keeping all 10 every day? No. Do you look at it like a checklist? Okay, do not murder check. I'll make sure I don't do that. Perfect next day. Don't lie. Check didn't lie today well check and we keep going, right? But if we're honest, we have at least fallen short of at least one of those. If not multiple, if not daily, if not weekly. But again, they're not random rules. They're covenant of love. And when you break 'em down, there's two groups. The first four teach us how to live and love God. The next six teach us how to love people. And if you look in the New Testament, somebody asked Jesus what is the greatest commandment? And you know what Jesus told him? He told him the 10 commandments, but he just summarized it. Love the Lord your God. Love your neighbor as yourself. He broke it down. Simple, right? Simple instructions that all of us have heard. And when I was studying this, I always thought, I grew up thinking God told Moses the 10 Commandments and then he was supposed to go tell the people the 10 commandments. But that was not the case. He said this, they all heard it. They heard the same instructions. But these instructions were not a checklist. These, he didn't give them these instructions to go, if you do this, I'll love you more. If you do this we'll be good. He gave them these instructions because they were supposed to be a mirror reflecting God's heart and our need for him. Just like that guy above that circle could predict that they weren't gonna uphold it. God knew we weren't either. That's why we needed him. These instructions are not about earning a relationship. It's about expressing it. It's about expressing it. Because God loves you. You are his special treasure. He loves you. He knows you can't do this on your own, but together you can. We can. And really if you look at all 10 of these instructions, they could be summed up with one question from God to us. Will you trust me? Will you trust me? Have no other gods? Will you trust that I am your God? Honor the Sabbath. Will you trust that while you rest, I'll refresh you and I'll keep working. Will you trust it? Will you trust me? Yes, there were laws, there were rules, but it's really about relationship. Will you trust me? But we often look at them as a checklist and just as our way to get to God, can I show you how we, most of us, if not all of us, really look at these 10 commandments. Lemme show you. I got some friends that are gonna help me out real quick. They're gonna bring something over. Um, as they bring this over. Uh, I need you to pray. Okay? Pray for me for my safety. Okay? I I was talking to a lady after the, the, uh, Saturday night service and she says she was sweating, so nervous for me. And I said, you couldn't be more nervous than I am. 'cause I'm actually up here. Okay? So stay with me. Stay with me, okay? Now, because we're talking about following instructions and rules, we're gonna follow OSHA's rules and instructions that says I need somebody to hold this while I go up. Okay? So hopefully those of you that get nervous when somebody else is climbing that, that helps you, somebody else is here. Okay? Now, now this here is, this is the, that that mountain of us trying to get to God and and wanting that relationship with him. And God gives us these laws, instructions. And we go, okay, God, I'll do these things and this is how we'll be in relationship and how I can get closer to you. So do not murder. Got it. God. Easy, real easy. 99.9% of us in the whole world, that won't happen. So we got it. Check. Alright, next one. What else you got from me? God. Okay. Alright, perfect. Do not steal. I won't steal. I've never stolen before, But I did end up with one of the pens from church. How did that happen? Um, does that include the lotion and shampoo from the hotel? It it does. Oh, oh nah, nah. Forget it. They don't even know it. They don't need it. It's cool. It's cool. So we're good. Check do not lie. All what kind of lie we talking about? If it gets me outta trouble, you all lies. Okay. Okay. So maybe I can't, I can't get there. But you know what? I don't lie all the time. So we going to just look past that one. I'm gonna go ahead and go up, okay? And then we start getting up and then we realize that Jesus raised the standard. He said not only do not murder, but if you think about murdering or hurting somebody, you've already done it. Cool. What's the other commandment? And then Jesus goes, do not commit adultery. But if you don't even look lustfully, And we look at the 10 Commandments as the standard, but Jesus raises it. And the more we try to do or go through all of these as a checklist or just as a way to get to God, we realize that we don't even get even anywhere close to God. And God predicted it. He knew it. But remember these were not just laws to keep us from him. They were laws given to us for relationship. And here's what I'm, so here's what I love about the gospel. The good news was that Jesus was not up here. That's as far as I'm gonna go, y'all. You get the point, right? Jesus is up here, not going try harder. Come on. Uh, they lied again. Hey y'all, they took our name in vain again. Just stay down there. You'll never get up here. The gospel says that Jesus said, don't worry, I'll come down to you. Because he knew that we couldn't uphold those by ourselves. So he says I can uphold 'em all. So why don't we go up together? Because I never murdered. I never lied, I never stole. I honored the Sabbath. I'm with you. We're gonna get up together because this relat, this is relationship. Not just rules, not just laws, but a relationship for us to walk with through together. And I don't know about you all. Thank you so much. I'm good. I'm not going back up there. Not going back up there. I'm thankful for that because this is the relationship when we say, God, I trust you. We're together. God I can't do this, but you can. I trust you. Yes, I trust you. I trust you. Amen. That's the relations, the relational response from us when it pertains to these 10 commandments. Not I can do that one, I can do. No, I trust you God, that with you, we can do this right after God gives them these 10 commandments, thunder, lightning, all of this stuff. And you would think that the people, they've heard God speak to them. You would think they would go, yes, we're gonna do this. We got you. But you know what they said? Hey Moses, that was terrifying. We don't want God to speak to us like that again. So how about you go up the mountain and you just tell us what he has to say? And we've unfortunately been living like that ever since. Moses, you go up and talk to God, pastor, you go up the mountain, tell us what God says. But God said, he told them, you'll be my holy nation, a kingdom of priests, you, us, y'all, all of us together. Praise God. It wasn't just supposed to be one person going up or a few people, we were supposed to go up because he wanted relationship with us. But you know what? They were overwhelmed by God's presence. And I can understand being overwhelmed by this huge God who is, who is just so mighty and strong and all of this. And there's all of these different things. And we may not see thunder and lighting in all of this stuff like, but what we may experience is just the awe and reverence of God in our own lives. Because oftentimes when you see a perfect God, when you get close to him, you realize how feet you are, right? That's right. And I remember being years into an addiction in my own life and taking steps toward the Lord and serving more in church and getting into my word and praying more. And the more I did that, I wasn't doing it to get a relationship with God, but the more that I did it, the more I experienced like, man, God is, you are so great. I've done so much. I mean God was like, no, no, no, keep coming back to me. And what I found was that he started convicting me of my own sin and telling me, confess it to those closest to you. And I thought that him telling me to confess it was him controlling me, was him trying to get me in trouble, trying to hurt me. But it was really love because only way I could be healed was by confessing to those that were around me. And I under only reason I understood that was because of his presence. Yes, it was overwhelming, but there was instruction that I had to follow. But it wasn't a limitation. It was love. And I want you to hear that today. Those commandments are love talk. I want the best for you. I don't want something from you. We're gonna do this together. I want something for you. He actually said, if you will obey these, you will flourish. How many of you all want to flourish? So God says, let's do this together, but you've gotta answer the question, will you trust me? God says, will you trust me? Will you trust that I am enough for you? Will you trust that you don't have to escape through social media or binge watching or food or alcohol or drugs or pornography or all of these things? You don't have to escape to those because I'm more than enough. I can give you everything you need. Peace. I am your peace. Will you trust me? Will you trust me that you don't have to be a workaholic and grind and grind and grind, feeling like your wealth is caught up in what you do? Will you trust that I, you can rest at least once during your week? He's not saying rest every day. He's just saying, will you trust me with your time? Will you trust me with your relationships? Will you trust me? But to tell, to tell the truth in those relationships? Will you trust that I will provide for you financially, relationally with wisdom and strength? Will you trust me? Will you trust that what I have given to you, you can be content in that. Will you trust me? Is what God is asking to all of us? Will you trust me? Some of you, he's asking today, will you trust me with your life? Will you trust that my way is not a better way, it is the best way. Will you trust me enough to surrender and take steps toward me, not on your own? I'm with you. Some of you that today's the day that you need to say, God, I will trust you with my life. And if that is you, we've got pastors here on staff today that want to connect with you after service to help you start that relationship because God loves you. He wants you to flourish and thrive. He wants that for you. But will you trust him? Will you go, well, I'll do that when I get a little bit older. I'll do that after I clean myself up. No. Will you trust me that I will do it right? Others of you, you've already, you've already trusted him with your life. But the question is, is there still one of those instructions that you're still not trusting him in? Is there that one area in your life that you're like, God, I got all these other ones. We're good here. I don't want to talk about that, that area right there. I don't want to trust you with that just yet. He's saying, but will you trust me with every part, right? I know you. You can't. Look the, the Israelites did not free themselves. You cannot free yourself. If you could, you would've already done it. Instead, he says, come with me. Will you trust me? Will you trust me? Come on. I know you don't want to give it up, but will you trust me? Come on, I'll help you. You're not alone. We're together. Will you trust me? And God's been doing this church since Eden? Yes. When we fell in Eden, will you trust me that I'll bring you back? He did it at Mount Mariah. Will you trust me? I'll provide another sacrifice for you through Jesus Christ at Mount Sinai. Moses, will you trust that where I'm sending you, I will be with you and here today, will you trust that I know the best way to live? Will you trust me? God's commands are not controlled church. They are care. They are not limits. They are loved. They are our path. Way to freedom. In the same God who met Moses on the mountain is the same God that wants to meet us here today as we get ready to go out this week, Will you trust him? Will you trust him this week? Church, let's take steps not on our own, but towards him with him. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you. Thank you that your laws come from love, not control. Teach us to see them as guardrails of grace because we are valuable to you. You want to guide us, help us to trust you with our lives. That your way leads to freedom and life. God, we want to flourish and thrive. That doesn't mean a perfect life will still go through things, but as we go through those things, you are with us. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you that He's the one who fulfilled every one of those laws perfectly, and we thank you, God, that his spirit now lives in us. When we give our lives to you today, today, God, we walk out of here saying, God, we will trust you. It's in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Have a great week everybody.
