Share Hope

As you consider how to be intentional to bless those around you, start by inviting God into the process.

Lord, as I continue to celebrate and experience the joy of the resurrection, help me to find ways to express that joy to those around me. With all of the isolation that we are experiencing in this season, prompt me with ways to connect with and bless my friends, family, and neighbors. May they experience Your love through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

• Find opportunities to give to or serve from our Outreach team.
• Make cloth masks for families, friends, and neighbors.
• Create care packages (toilet paper, disinfectant spray, hand lotion, packaged snacks, notes of hope and encouragement) and drop off to loved ones.
• Write a heartfelt, handwritten letter to friends and family. If you don’t have stamps, take a clear picture and text/email it.
• Organize a car parade to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries so your loved ones feel celebrated from an appropriate distance.
• Leave hope-filled thank you notes or gift cards for mail carriers, trash collectors and grocery stores employees.
• Use Curbside STL to find local restaurants and send a meal to an elderly or at-risk neighbor.
• Pick a dinner menu with friends, cook the same dish, and enjoy that meal over Zoom. Bonus points to whoever used the most unique spices!
• Buy a gift card to your favorite restaurant, then pick a date in the future where you and a close friend will have dinner together.
• Use markers or paint on an old bed sheet. Create a message of hope and hang it from a door, window or balcony for your neighbors to see.
• Give a prompt in sidewalk chalk and invite your neighbors to participate. Ideas include: What are you grateful for? What gives you hope? What gives you joy? Remember: BYOC (bring your own chalk)
• Use a platform like Facebook or NextDoor to start a neighborhood book club. Get to know your neighbors and connect over a new book. You can even support our online bookstore with your purchases.
